Consists of 6 academic years and two educational stages: Key Stage 1 (Year 1 and Year 2), Key Stage 2 (Year 3 – Year 6). From 5 to 11 years old.

At the Primary stage we continue to provide exceptional attention to students, while fostering the intellectual, social, physical, and moral development of each student in an academically rich environment.

What we teach

Enriched curriculum

Students are actively involved in their learning and their teachers guide and support them in mastering knowledge and skills in a range of subjects and topics. Students are encouraged to think critically, analyse carefully and express their ideas accurately, while developing greater levels of autonomy, confidence, and resilience. Students are gradually introduced to technology, which gives them the opportunity to develop a wide range of cross-curricular skills.

The Primary Department’s curriculum is designed to interest and engage students in their learning and to ensure continuity and progression from the early years through to Year 6, the final year of this stage of education.

Our Primary students’ learning is based mainly on the English National Curriculum, alongside carefully selected aspects of the Spanish curriculum. Learning is approached through various themes. Learning is approached through different topics

, which connect each area of the curriculum and integrate the knowledge learnt so it relates to the real world. This approach emphasises creativity in all subject areas, which helps engage students, and makes learning more relevant and enjoyable. Our Primary teachers facilitate, guide and support students in their learning, enabling them to take an active role in their development.

GOING THE EXTRA MILE

Technology

The use of computers and technology are fundamental elements of modern life, and it is essential that all our students acquire the confidence and skills necessary to prepare them for the challenge of an ever-changing world. We have dedicated IT rooms, but with our bank of easily transportable iPads and ChromeBooks, technology is present in the students’ daily learning.

Inside and outside the classroom

We organise excursions, trips, and exchanges throughout the school year to reinforce both academic content and social skills. These types of experiences not only reinforce curricular knowledge, but also encourage autonomy, collaboration, kindness and respect between our school community and the environment.

Bilingualism

Our students’ learning is complemented by the study of Spanish language and culture, social sciences and the autonomous community’s own language, Valencian. Spanish as a foreign language is also taught so that international students can learn the language, as well as additional support classes in English for those students who need it.
