This stage runs from the age of one to five years and is divided into four classes: Baby Bears (1 to 2 years), Little Bears (2 to 3 years), Nursery (3 to 4 years) and Reception (4 to 5 years).

Our students’ journey begins in early childhood education, where teachers support and nurture children’s natural desire to learn by providing a range of opportunities for them to explore and experiment linguistically, socially, emotionally, physically, and creatively.

Our curriculum also focuses on the three “characteristics of effective learning”, which form the foundation of our students’ learning process:

  • Meaningful learning
  • Bilingual mindset
  • Flexible environment

THE BASIS FOR LEARNING

Meaningful learning

This department facilitates both child-initiated and adult-led activities, ensuring that each child enjoys experiences that are relevant, personalised and in line with their interests. Learning through play and through their interests is very important to children’s development and is an integral part of the daily experience.

Bilingual mindset

Our students develop their language skills through exposure to both English and Spanish teachers, ensuring that they develop a fully bilingual mindset from an early age.

Flexible environment

Our classrooms are spacious, bright, and welcoming, with direct access to the playground and outdoor learning areas. These areas are equipped with age- appropriate resources and games, allowing children to enjoy a wide variety of experiences in a safe and stimulating environment.

Areas of learning

The aim is to provide each child with the best possible start to their educational journey. Learning through play is very important for a child’s development and it is an integral part of the early childhood education stage, supporting learning from day one.

Through play, students develop language, emotions, creativity, social skills, and imagination, all of which will provide the basis for them to acquire essential skills such as problem solving, teamwork, kindness, and effort. In the early years, learning areas are organised into themes for an optimal cross-curricular approach. The learning areas include: CORE AREAS
